I know a lot of us often discuss the negative things that happen on WoW. Some of these things have merit, and others less so. But what is often less reported or discussed are the triumphs of good, and those rare moments where one's faith is restored.
The reason for this is because such acts go against the grain of our often animalistic natures. The path that was chosen, was not as self-serving one, but rather a kind act; and it also was one which was neither asked for, nor expected.
Rather it was just aid that was given freely, and grounded in altruism. In essence a deed that was done out of a simple desire to make someone's life a little brighter in an often very dark world.
Such a act may seem simple enough to the one helping, but it also makes all of the difference for those that needed that help or support at that critical moment. Sometimes it is those random acts of kindness that mean the most.
And that my friends, is the focus of this thread. I want to call attention to one such act of kindness and make sure it too gets reported, because good deeds are too often glossed over and rarely if ever discussed.

Here we have a case where Blizzard has done something completely unlooked for but which served the greater good, and they did so for no other reason than the fundamental human act of making the burden of someone who works hard for the community, a little lighter this day.
It was a decent and selfless thing you did for this guy, and it's nice to see gestures like this, because it showcases that for all of the Activision / Corporate arguments people make; most will agree Blizzard did something very good in helping this fellow out. It also serves as a textbook example of why many of us remain.
Because to quote Luke Skywalker:

Your use of the phrase 'step it up' was probably what indicates your negativity. But I mean its not that you are wrong necessarily, DBM does needs some updating but this thread is more about celebrating our developer team that did something awesome and being happy for a fellow player. You don't really seem to get that (or maybe you don't care?).

if you think they didn't analyze the PR benefit before doing this you would be mistaken if not why didn't they just send the gifts anonymously oh no we had to have our community PR mouth piece write up a story telling everyone how great we are. Cynical? Maybe but all the anonymous users thats donated via curse to his project are more altruistic than glory seeking PR !@#$%s.

The guys that did this and the guys that suck the blood out of users are not the same. Unless they are, in which the intentions are not pure.

Tell me the REAL story is how they hooked him up with a dentist, but all people focus on is the shiny new PC. Please.. PLEASE tell me they helped him with getting to a dentist AND THEN got him a new PC.
